Sandwiches are the perfect food. This page is dedicated to all of my sandwiches. Shout out to them.
^King Veal – A night out at the Leafs game and too many vodka sodas later means the next day is filled with little productivity and lots of ordered grease. We’re talking a classic Bitondo’s veal – one of my all time favourites. A soft bun creating a house for all the classics. Veal, yes. Tomato sauce, yes. Mozzarella, yes. Onions, yes. My stomach was feeling braver than usual so I went medium peppers. I do like hot peppers, but the aftermath is not so chill. This sandwich was enjoyed with the new Elvis doc on Netflix. Usually a 10/10, but it lost its temperature in the delivery. My own fault for being lazy, and not walking 10 minutes up the street. 9/10.
^The Leftover Sandwich – what’s more exciting than pot roast for dinner? Thinking about the sandwich it’s going to turn into the next day. Take those leftovers out of the fridge, put ’em in the microwave, and ZAP. Today I toasted a piece of sourdough, lathered a healthy amount of mayonnaise on it – double sided of course – I’m no psychopath. Laid down the cheddar cheese like I was putting it to sleep, and then draped that hot pot roast on top. Spreading it evenly around its bed. Temperature is key here, as you need that cheese all melty and delicious. Panini press it down – no machine, just hands, and we’re ready to rock. Simple, yet decadent. Heavy, yet mood lifting. Fatty, yet who the hell cares. This sandwich was enjoyed with a fantasy football video podcast and washed down with a cold glass of water. 9/10.
